One Direction Live DVD Hits No. 1 in 25 Countries

It was a good week for the One Direction boys, even though it was revealed that Liam Payne broke his toe, thanks to an errant Mac Book Pro landing on his foot. Ouchies! Even so, the boys’ ‘Up All Night: The Live Tour’ DVD was the No. 1 music DVD in America, as well as 24 other countries. That’s right. The 1D boys scored No. 1 positioning in 25 countries. Congrats!
In a press release touting the good news, Niall Horan stated,”We’re blown away by the success of the DVD all around the world and want to thank everyone who has gone out and bought it, the support means so much to us. It was lots of fun filming the concert for the DVD, so we’re chuffed all the fans love it so much.”
“Chuffed,” in case you aren’t really up on current British slang, means “pleased” or “happy.”
The DVD sold more copies than the top-selling album in the U.S. last week, and it sold twice the amount of copies that the No. 1 album shifted in Canada, and is the second best-selling DVD of 2012 in that country. The DVD is also numero uno in the band’s native U.K.
The 1D DVD is also No.1 in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Turkey.
Can you say “World domination?”
Now take care of that bum toe, Liam!
