Here's the FEMAIL guide to the best - and worst - dressed team at the London 2012 Olympics so far...
TEAM GB

Modernised flag: Stella McCartney designed the
Adidas GB kit, modelled here by cyclists Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria
Pendleton, tennis player Andy Murray and athlete Jessica Ennis. She was
criticised for turning the union flag blue but defended herself saying
she wanted to be contemporary. And as a result she has made a blue union
flag synonymous with London 2012. The kit has been a hit with athletes
like triple jumper Phillips Idowu who said he loves it

Too blue: The kit for Team GB's football squad is too navy while goalkeeper Jack Butland looks like he's been tangoed in orange

That's more like it: Team GB's gymnasts Louis
Smith, left, and Beth Tweddle look regal in red and the colour fired the
men to an unexpected bronze medal. A glittery lion mane on the women's
kit is an elegant patriotic touch

Bradley Wiggins swaps his yellow jersey for the
GB kit: We love the aerodynamic red helmet and the way the team name is
cleverly placed along the thigh, under the arm and across the back so it
can be read clearly when the cyclist is in action

Skimpy: You can't fit much of the union flag on the tiny trunks worn by diver Tom Daley... not that we're complaining

Ladies in red: Zara Dampney and Shauna Mullin
look the part in the red version of the kit for their beach volleyball
match and painted their nails in patriotic colours

Elvis impersonators: The suits worn by Team GB
at the opening ceremony looked tacky and cheap. Stella McCartney was
quick to distance herself pointing out they were designed by High Street
chain Next when they were roundly criticised
USA

Not celebratory enough: The Nike tracksuits won
by the swimming team on the podium were a dull grey... at least they had
the gold medals to brighten them up

Amateur airforce: Even sprinter Tyson Gay
couldn't make these Ralph Lauren designed suits look cool when they were
worn at the opening ceremony

The smurfs: If you thought Team GB was too blue
then what about the U.S. male gymnastic kit? At least the women were
more vibrant in red and included the American stripes on their leotards

Not ace: Fashionistas Serena Williams, left, and
her sister Venus have to settle for this boring white vest for their
doubles match but Serena returns in a more interesting navy, white and
red dress for the singles game, right

Doesn't cut the mustard: The men's archery team in Nike jeans and drab brown jackets
RUSSIA

From Russia with bad taste: The designer of these tracksuits should be sent to Siberia

Boater hats, blazers and crazily-designed
shirts: But flag bearer Maria Sharapova can still manage a smile at the
opening ceremony despite their awful outfits

Improvement: On court, Sharapova looks a lot
more stylish in a red vest and white skirt but the racer style back of
the vest doesn't fit with her previous tan lines!
JAMAICA

Bringing the sunshine to London: You need
sunglasses to look at the Jamaican team led by Usain Bolt in bright
yellow suits at the opening ceremony

Bringing music and sport together: The kit, worn
here Dominique Blake, left, and Bolt again, right, was designed by Bob
Marley's niece and she paid tribute to her uncle in one of the T-shirt
designs
CHINA

Unadventurous: The team kept it simple at the opening ceremony with an outfit worthy of airplane cabin crew

Power of the dragon: A much more exciting design
for the table tennis team, left, with a dragon roaring the players to
glory while the gymnasts keep up the theme with flames on their leotards

Fly like a butterfly... the syncronised swimming team practise in pretty suits
FRANCE

All white: The French seem keen on focussing on
one colour of the flag in their outfits with all white for the podium
tracksuits worn by the swimmers, left, and basketballers, right

Sacre bleu: While the football and handball
teams go for predominantly blue with a strange chain-like design on the
handball shirts, right

Designer backing: Hermes designed the jackets worn by the French equestrian team
ITALY

Suited and booted: Armani designed the Italian
suits for the opening ceremony but the team looked like they were
heading to the office rather than the Olympic stadium

Colour clash: From left, swimmer Federica
Pellegrini in a bright patterned swimsuit, the Italian divers in pink
and purple and finally some red and green is seen in the gymnastic
leotard
GERMANY

Dolly mixture: Like newborns, the boys wore blue and the girls pink in the opening ceremony with these terrible shiny jackets

Standing out: The German's use of bright colours
continued with these garish diving swimsuits, left, and the turquoise
beach volleyball kit

Flying to victory: The eagle from the German coat of arms is a prominent feature on much of the kit as shown by the rowers
And the best and worst of the rest...

Chic: Salvatore Ferragamo designed the stylish
dresses won by the small San Marino team at the opening ceremony - a
much better look than the garish tracksuits and ill-fitting blazers seen
on other countries

Retro: The Czech Republic's tracksuit is a throw
back to the Seventies while the blue colour of the tennis vest means
sweat patches are prominent

It's not that cold! The Aussie beach volley team keep covered no doubt used to competing in higher temperatures at home
