Time for tea with Wills and Kate? Just don't expect a conversation... waxworks of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge go on display in Berlin

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are always in demand. As well as royal duties, Prince William is busy in his job as an RAF search and rescue pilot while Kate has been supporting Team GB during the Olympics.
So it's no wonder they haven't had time for a tour of foreign countries in Europe recently. But now Germans can experience the next best thing to meeting the royals in person... as long as they don't mind a lack of conversation.

Waxworks of the royal couple have been sent to Germany to go on display at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in Berlin, from 17 August for 12 weeks.

Before arriving at the museum, the waxworks were thrown a traditional tea party at the British embassy in Berlin to officially unveil the models to the press and public.
The wax figures, that cost £150,000 a time to make, are on loan from London. The famous waxwork museum first unveiled the statues in Britain's capital in April to mark the couple's first year of marriage.

Four statues of Kate were made - with each one showing her in a different dress - so she could be on display at different museums around the world at the same time.
The Berlin waxwork is of the Duchess in a lace Alice Temperley number that she wore to the film premiere of War Horse in January.
